Dr. Landrum to Offer Alternative Pain Treatments at HealthReach

Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation Medicine are among his specialties

WATERVILLE - HealthReach practices in Belgrade, Livermore Falls and Richmond will be welcoming a new provider to their respective medical teams in November. Dr. Michael A. Landrum will support treatment plans for health center patients with pain by offering integrative medical strategies incorporated in his specialty of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Included in this specialty are injection therapies as well as alternative avenues of consideration.
Dr. Landrum received a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 1991 at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, CA. Previously he obtained an undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Muskingum College, OH.
"My interest in HealthReach represents joining my calling in relieving pain with their existing Medical Home model,” stated Dr. Landrum. “My goal is to help the people of Maine in a specialty capacity that would promote their health alongside their current primary care emphasis already present--to enhance the HealthReach mission of addressing the needs of common health concerns in rural community health centers. My philosophy is to optimize structural challenges to produce healthy function and decrease pain. In these settings, I will provide specialist assistance in the understanding and treatment of pain conditions, which is a common feature of concern in healthcare."

Dr. Landrum will be joining teams of physicians and family nurse practitioners across the three health centers who provide medical care to patients of all ages. In addition, clinical social workers assist patients with behavioral health needs, psychiatric nurse practitioners provide adult psychiatric medication management, and podiatrists provide foot and ankle services. The three health centers offer primary care to over 7,000 people from Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec and Sagadahoc counties.
