BINGHAM - Bingham Area Health Center’s low-cost farm stand, sponsored by the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets and Good Shepherd Food Bank, continues to offer fresh, locally grown produce from local farms in Somerset County. The cost of the food is subsidized by the sponsoring organizations and payment is accepted in cash and EBT.
The Food for All Farm Stand is geared toward creating an alternative food access model that will make fresh local produce available and affordable for all rural Mainers, including those who are low income or use SNAP benefits. The farm stand will be open from noon to 4:00 PM on Thursdays for the following dates:
• August 25
• September 1
• September 8
• September 15
Fresh, local produce has so far been provided by Sweetland Farm (Starks), Dasher Farms (Fairfield), and Moodytown Gardens (Palmyra).
